Less than a mile from the Cove? Does this mean I can use your #1 fan status for couch-space when I head up to the Bay for a drink? ;)

Thanks for the kind words. Sounds like I'll likely bump in to you at Smuggler's Cove some time.

I recently had the fortune of visiting Appleton and really enjoyed the tour. I picked up a bottle of the MBL and a bottle of the 30 year. Unfortunately, I'm afraid to open the 30 year. I have lots of nosey/untrustworthy friends who would just as soon mix it with Crystal Light... I have opened the MBL and it, of course, is divine. This is a wonderful site that has allowed me hours of "slow season" distraction. I may be your new #1 fan! I also have the good fortune of living less than a mile and a half from the soon to open Smugglers Cove!

Hooray rum!

Looking forward to sampling at AE in Jamaica during May, even if it's the "29" year sampling. Hope to pick some up in the San Jose or San Francisco Bay area of California in the U.S.A.

Excellent site and looking forward to more of your recommendations. Been to Jamaica so many times, but have never been to Appleton Estates. Usually have always managed to cart a couple of their bottles home. One of the _ Airlines _ ticketing and baggage staff refused to let us bring any in our checked baggage back from Los Angeles to northern California, so we had to part sweet company to it to a couple of local, but very happy strangers. We gave them the rum, rather than the staff at the _ Airlines _ check in. They were so upset that we didn't leave it with them, thinking that they'd score, in the name of "homeland security". Pity, pity, pity... Considering we had the allowance within Federal gov't limitations, the _ Airlines _ people at LAX were scamming us, plain and simple. That was during early June of 2007.

Well-well, there is definitively must be a rum sampling after such prepossessing presentation. I would like undoubtedly to taste this Appleton Estate being so well promoted by so called the fifth estate that the Globe Network is. Cheers indeed!

Hi David,

Sorry for the tardy response. The date for Appleton Estate 30 seems to keep moving. I've heard the end of 2009, I've heard sooner. When it comes out, expect a party here. ;-)

When should we get a good idea of when we can start buying this prized bottle? I am saving up right now!

Appleton tour was a blast. Had a great day with Joy Spence. Unfortunately didn't get to taste the 30 year old. They now say we might get a couple of bottles later this year. Still worth the wait!!

Hi Bob,

I'm always on the lookout for other rum enthusiasts and was actually shocked when I realized I hadn't linked to you yet when I've had your site bookmarked for a while now. I confess, I'm more than a little jealous that you've already been allocated any bottles of the AE30YO (and that you'll be visiting Appleton).

Hope your trip goes well.

Cheers!

Hi, thanks for adding a link to my website. I will definetly return the favour when I get home tonite.
I enjoy your site and I'm hoping to secure a bottle of the Appleton 30 year old for myself. We have been allocated a "few" bottles, hopefully it will be here soon before I go to Appleton next month.
Cheers
Bob Davies
