Rick: Near as I can tell, no. Jeff's recipe is also rumored to be the closest to the original, if not the original itself.

TB: I have no idea. I tend to drink simple cocktails as I am a simple person. This whole bartending thing is rather new to me still and I need to work on trying such things.

Dr. Bamboo: I'm thinking that we're probably still liable to lose our drinking snob cards. If we're lucky, maybe the court will buy a temporary insanity defense.

Ha! I can't seem to go to any site these days without seeing that photo.

Although I should point out that Gabriel is the only one depicted actually *drinking* his Hurricane, so maybe we're off the hook. Will it stand up in court?

I think it's an interesting balance you've got there. Perhaps creating a Hurricane that has a bit of a Singapore Sling element to it (putting your Passion Fruit Liqueur at both the top and bottom of the drink) might give it a more favorable "look" and a different experience while drinking it?

Oh, and it's time for tequila, btw. Get out your shot glasses, salt, and limes.

~tb~

I really love Jeff's version. Has anyone found a better recipe?
