RumDood.com: Award-Winning Blog? Really?

by Matt Robold on January 27, 2009

If you’ve followed the news announcement on the left side of the page, or my Twitter feed, or my Facebook status, or – well a lot of places, you probably already know this, but I felt I should probably announce it officially here as well.

It would appear that RumDood.com has been announced by Well-Fed Network as Best Blog Covering Drinks for 2008.  I was up against some very worthy competition.  Jay is someone I consider a good friend and he runs a phenomenal blog.  If you’re unfamiliar with Oh Gosh!, go check it out.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little shocked at winning.  RumDood.com hasn’t been around all that long, having started in October of 2007.  I’ve already talked about how the blog grew in its first year, which was pretty amazing to me already.  I don’t think I was prepared in the slightest for this though.

For those of you that voted for the site, I want to say “Thank You.”  I’m truly honored.  At the same time, I really hope that Well Fed will reconsider its minimum posts-per-month requirement for 2009, as a number of very deserving blogs weren’t even eligible for reasons of quantity rather than quality.

I’d also like to take a moment to congratulate the other winners of the 2008 Food Blog Awards:
