I've not been involved with the scene long enough to have any valid opinions on the Tiki history part, but having met him - I can say that he was extremely interesting and funny - a real nice guy. When my RSS feed indicates a new post - I'm straight on it, invariably they make me laugh out loud.

I'm on the waiting list for the book to become available in the UK.

I have all of Jeff's books, but I think the original Grog Log is still my favorite. Each one has great drinks, but I can remember how excited I was whn I opened Grog Log the first time. And the drinks are still great, even years later.

Also, I have to add that even amidst the scores of great writers, bartenders, geeks and assorted others that are in the cocktail scene, Jeff is one of the nicest, most humble, gracious people I've ever met. He's definitely mo' bettah!

I have so many other people to add to my quote above, but will *totes* stand by Jeff and Ted being some of the few extremely influential authors (not the bartenders/owners, journalists, etc) responsible for the big ol' cocktail renaissance going on.
